All good stories have a beginning, an end and an author. However the most important thing is the story itself.
Each and every one of us are brought into a world that is full of mystery, full of surprises and full of experiences, this in turn makes it full of stories to be told. When it comes to telling stories not everyone is as lucky as I am, to be in an industry where storytelling is my life and I have a platform where people can watch or even hear my stories. Not everyone is lucky enough to publish a book or write a novel. And that is precisely why I fell in love with blogging.
You do not have to be an award-winning journalist, or an accomplished writer to share your experiences. You don’t have to pay or bribe someone thousands of Rands and go through the complicated process of getting your words published. All you need is a computer, an internet connection and a little bit of imagination.
When it comes to writing a blog, you get to be yourself, you can express emotions in a real unedited way and you get to engage with readers who enjoy your posts because they relate to the person that you are and and the way you see the world. You don’t have to write in complicated sentences or use random images and the fancy stuff they teach you in high school (let’s be serious none of us remember them in any case.)
The thing I love most about blogging is the fact that it makes you feel like you are writing your very own bestselling novel and it lets you feel like you have accomplished something of greatness (even if it’s nothing great), you feel like you are writing for the world and not just the 3 people who happen to stumble upon your blog (if you’re lucky).
You are going to get people who love you and you are going to get people who hate you. But at the end of the day it really doesn’t matter. Just keep writing.
