The delightful animated film, Home, releases on the big screen on Friday, 27 March and is specially for the younger audiences. Adding to the magic of the film, the cinema foyers at certain Ster-Kinekor cinemas will be transformed into a carnival of colour and activity over the Easter weekend, with face painters, jugglers, bubble machines, tasty treats, prizes and so much more.
Take the youngsters down to Ster-Kinekor cinemas at Gateway in Durban, Cape Gate in Cape Town, Brooklyn and The Grove in Pretoria, and Cresta and The Zone in Johannesburg, to join in all the excitement from 03 – 06 April.
Disney’s Cinderella is a beautiful fairytale. Some of the cinemas will be transformed into a fairyland over the Easter weekend, and we hope the seats will be filled with little princesses coming to watch this magical film. Follow the fairy lights to the big screens at Ster-Kinekor cinemas at Gateway in Durban, Cape Gate, Tygervalley and Cavendish in Cape Town, Brooklyn in Pretoria and The Zone, Sandton and Cradlestone Mall in Johannesburg – and, on Thursday, 02 April, the palace’s footmen will welcome you to the land of Cinderella.
But, if it’s fast and furious action you’re after, Ster-Kinekor has that covered too – and is even providing the seatbelts! Ster-Kinekor’s luxurious Cine Prestige and immersive IMAX® theatres are the place to be to catch the much-anticipated release of the final film in the Fast franchise, Fast & Furious 7. Special pre-screenings take place on 01 April, and the film’s national release is on Thursday, 02 April.
Buckle up for the ride of your life in the three IMAX® theatres at Gateway in Durban, Cape Gate in Cape Town and The Grove in Pretoria. If you fancy yourself as a would-be Fast & Furious driver, you can test your skills in the racing simulators at select cinemas from 03 – 06 April. The racing simulators will be in pole position at Ster-Kinekor Gateway in Durban, Tygervalley in Cape Town, Sterland in Pretoria, and at Cradlestone Mall and The Zone in Johannesburg. However, if watching fast cars racing from ‘Zero to Luxury in under three seconds’ is more your style, you need to book your seats in Cine Prestige from 01 – 06 April. Enter the VIP Lounge and imagine you are trackside in the F1 pits – and, if you find a lucky sticker under your big red leather seat inside the cinema, you take the checkered flag and a prize hamper too! Synopsis – HOME:
HOME is the latest offering from Dreamworks Animation (The Croods, How to Train Your Dragon). Directed by Tim Johnson, the film features an array of well-known voices including the likes of Rihanna, Jim Parsons, funnyman Steve Martin, Jennifer Lopez and Matt Jones.
After an overly-optimistic, yet inept alien race called the Boov led by Captain Smek (Steve Martin) invades Earth to make it their new home and to hide from their mortal enemies, a resourceful human girl named Gratuity ‘Tip’ Tucci (voiced by Rihanna) avoids capture and embarks on the road trip of a lifetime with a banished Boov named Oh (voiced by Jim Parsons), who accidentally notifies the enemies of their whereabouts.
Through their unlikely friendship, and a series of comic adventures with Tip and her pet cat named Pig, Oh comes to understand that being different and making mistakes is all part of being human. And, while he changes her planet and she changes his world, together they discover the true meaning of the word HOME.

Synopsis – CINDERELLA:
Ella (Lily James), the daughter of a merchant who remarries following the death of his wife, is eager to support her father as she welcomes her new stepmother (Cate Blanchett) and her daughters Anastasia (Holliday Grainger) and Drisella (Sophie McShera) into their house. But, when Ella’s father unexpectedly passes away, she finds herself at the mercy of a cruel new family.
One day, Ella meets a stranger in the woods. Unaware that he is a prince, Ella finally feels she has met a kindred soul. When the Palace sends out an open invitation for all maidens to attend a ball, Ella realises it’s her chance to once again see the charming Kit (Richard Madden). However, when her stepmother forbids her to attend the ball, a kindly beggar woman (Helena Bonham-Carter) steps forward and changes Cinderella’s life forever.

Synopsis – FAST & FURIOUS 7:
After defeating Owen Shaw and his crew, Dominic Toretto (Vin Diesel), Brian O’Conner (Paul Walker) and the rest of the crew return to the United States to live a normal life again. But, Owen’s older brother, Ian Shaw (Jason Statham), is after Dominic, seeking revenge for the his brother, and placing the entire crew in danger once again. After learning of Han’s death, the crew sets out to find the man who killed one of their own, before he finds them.
Continuing the global exploits in this unstoppable franchise built on speed, Vin Diesel, the late Paul Walker and Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson lead the returning cast of Fast & Furious 7. James Wan directs this chapter of the hugely successful series that also welcomes back favourites including Michelle Rodriguez, Jordana Brewster, Tyrese Gibson, Chris ‘Ludacris’ Bridges, Elsa Pataky and Lucas Black. This popular group of actors is joined by international action stars new to the franchise including Jason Statham, Djimon Hounsou, Tony Jaa, Ronda Rousey, Nathalie Emmanuel and Kurt Russell.
