Last weekend my plus one and I had the privilege of attending the epic Before and After party hosted by Savanna at Greyville Race Course in Durban. The party was one of the parties in a series of parties taking place all over the country. The evening was a celebration of the new Savanna bottle, the first change since the first cider was launched in 1996 as Marcel Swain the SA Marketing Manager puts it. And it was an night of real celebration and fun.
The evening started off with a live band playing jazzy beats as people streamed in welcomed with Savanna ciders and finger foods. Our MC the hilarious David “Davide” Levinsohn as he introduced himself had the crowd in stitches and it was not the Savanna ciders talking. We we taken down memory lane when Savanna ads dating back from the very first were aired and the stage was later taken by Kagiso Lediga who did not disappoint. And that was before the party even started.
The curtains were drawn and we were led into our party nest for the night complete with a bar, DJ’s box and four fun stations which kept party goes engaged and interactive all night. The slow-mo video booth was the cherrie to the activities and everyone had mad fun dancing and laughing carnival style in front of the camera with Savanna ciders flowing all over the room. The staff kept every fan’s drink running and the DJ’s kept our feet moving all night.
Savanna fans got to dance away to music played by DJ’s Garth B, Crazy White Boy and Fisherman. A host of local radio DJs were spotted at the party and fans got to rub shoulders with the comedians. The evening was full of fun and I am not a dancer in public lest I break my bones, but I was on the floor all night dancing away at the Savanna Before and After party. The only complaint I have is that the party had to like all things, come to an end.
