We recently got to chat to Puleng Ndlovu, a KZN born and bred actress who holds a Bachelor Degree in Social Science from the University of KwaZulu-Natal. She recently completed the Actor-Wize Foundation TV-Screen Acting course, which is founded and ran by renowned Director and producer Rajesh Gopie. Puleng then landed a lead role in the riveting drama film “Indumba” that tells a story of a hardworking career woman who finally falls pregnant after years of trying and gets promoted to Chief Financial Officer but soon realizes that there are other forces in charge of her destiny when she loses it all and must correct an old wrong. The film is produced by Sobabili Films and directed by Zama Msibi.

How did you get involved in acting? I did a short TV Acting Course earlier this year after its completion, I then started going for auditions and castings. But that was not my first time exposed to it as I’ve had a stint on Generations as an extra back in 2009.

What kind of roles do you prefer? Any role that will be challenging and help me to grow in my craft.
Tell us about what you’re working on now? I’m currently working on a big television production but can’t reveal the details for now! It’s so exciting, it brought tears to eyes when I received the call about it, my legs were shaking literally.
What sort of acting roles will you be seeking in the future? All I can wish for is to get an opportunity to act strong and challenging characters.
In which area would you like to improve as an actress? I’m work in progress and I’m happy to grab every opportunity I can get to learn cos umuntu ufunda aze afe! “We are always learning till we die” Please excuse the direct translation.
What are your weaknesses? I would say stubbornness but then again some can see it as a positive trait! You be the judge!
What are your strengths? It’s probably my ability to be able to adapt in difficult and new situations.
Who is your favourite actress and why? OMG it must be the one and only Xolile Tsabalala, sorry born frees might not know her! She has always stood out for me and I really enjoy watching her on screen.

Puleng’ s face has been associated with a Hair Brand, such as Evita, in posters and hair packages. She has appeared on Newspapers (The Mercury, Isolezwe, Ilanga, UM’Afrika) to name a few, and Magazine(Glamour) for her Fashion modelling work and also in True Love Babe.

Please check out my new film that’s coming up this Saturday on Mzansi Magic Channel 161 at 19:30! Thanks to everyone who has supported me throughout this journey, my agent and management and not forgetting  those who didn’t even know me but just rallied behind this film! “Kubongwa okuncane nokukhulu” I hope South Africa welcomes this new face with warm hands! Ngiyabonga Kakhulu!
